• Researcher + Teaching Assistant
  Haystack Mountain School of Craft - Ceramics 3D Printing - 2023
  Representing the Virginia Tech Center for Design Research (CDR), 3 ABB IRB 120 robotic arms were used as a teaching tool for a 2 week ceramics 3D printing workshop. Students learned to create digital models using Rhino + Grasshopper, which were translated to RAPID code through a proprietary slicer tool to additively manufacture their vessels with 6-axis control.

  Haystack Labs - MIT Bits and Atoms / Slip Rabbit Collaboration - 2023
  Working alongside Timea Tihanyi of Slip Rabbit, Giulio Buscaroli of WASP , and Olivia Seow of MIT, we experimented with a process to embed hidden data on an objects surface. Through camouflaged QR patterns augmented with the help of AI, and parametric geometry manipulation in Grasshopper, we produced a range of ceramic sculptures during this week long desing sprint.
• Harvard Guest Lecture
  Invited lecture, Harvard Graduate School of Design, “6-Axis Slicing” Nov 2022
  Lectured on the theory behind robotic-aided additive manufacturing and the process of using robots to 3D print various materials. Also presented a workflow using Grasshhpper & Taco ABB that showed my custom designed 'off-axis slicing solution' to the group of Harvard GSD students which generated RAPID code to control an ABB IRB 120 robot with either an FDM extruder or a ceramics extruder.

  | Virginia Tech College of Architecture + Design - 2022 - 2024
  I teach a class focusing on technical design skills such as Rhino, Grasshopper, 3D Scanning, 3D Printing, VR design, and Digital Rendering. There is heavy focus on the digital to physcial pipeline, with specific interest on organic freeform modeling and biomimetic design. I also serve on an advisory committee for Arch. Masters thesis projects.

  Running day to day operations of a 3D printing lab / farm, as well as overseeing 15+ student liasion staff. Also consulting on research projects and grants conducted at VT and made possible through through my facility's resources.
• Computational Designer
  | TWIKIT - May 2022 - Present
  Using the parametric modeling software Grasshopper 3D, I worked alongside a team of designers and software engineers to create custom 3D printed orthotics for mass market medical use. Harnessing the power of a proprietary web-based tool, our client was able to work directly with doctors to 3D scan patients' wrists, arms, and legs- capturing accurate data that our automated system could use to construct next genereation casts and splints.
• J&J + Carilion Clinic Design Sprint
  | VT ID + BME - January 2021 - August 2021
  In collaboration with biomedical engineering students from Virginia Tech, this interdisciplinary project allowed me to work closely to with multiple doctors and specialists in order to design new tools to support at-home hemodialysis patients.
• Retooling Bamboo Tectonics

  Worked with an interdisciplinary team of designers and computer scientists to design and develop a responsive construction methodology that can form discrete structures based from irregular bamboo poles.

  Redesigned and updated their website to be contemporary with the times. Created multi-page brochures that advertise each of their software products. Software splash page design. Graphic design lead on Scan to BIM University - logo, branding, apparel, merchandise, editorial, layout. B2B marketing content creation and mailing list management.

  Helped organize virtual conferences for Virginia Tech's chapter of Industrial Design Society of America. I was in charge of the budget and facilitating member dues, as well as dispersing award money for competitions.

  Creative director for the Engineers’ Forum magazine, Virginia Tech’s premiere student-run science and engineering magazine. I create the layout for each issue, as well as the custom graphics that compliment each story. I also run the website, and produce advertising material.
• 3D Print Lab Research Lead

  In charge of the School of Architecture + Design’s Additive Manufacturing and Prototyping Lab, where I led a team of Post Grad & Undergrad students, exploring the possibilities of FDM 3D printing. I have been experimenting with procedural modeling methods to create parts that are structurally optimized, as well as material efficient.

  Studio Collective is the official design journal of the School of Architecture + Design at Virginia Tech, and celebrates the work of students with the aim to broaden awareness and conversations about design. I worked alongside the layout team to create Volume 12, Perception.
• Marketing Designer
  | MicroAutomation - June 2018
  Created a product video to advertise the company’s 911 call center software. Designed and animated their logo for the opening sequence, created 3D animations showing their mascot moving through the video, and aided in the explanation of the software.
